Over Labor day, the Belle Tire 96AA team traveled down to St. Louis to play the top 96AAA teams in the country.  They kick off their 2009 Fall Bantam Minor season with a convincing 6-0 win over the Chicago Mission.  They followed with a 3-2 Loss to St. Louis Blues, then wins over the Rochester Alliance 5-3, Western Canadian All Stars 5-4, and Team Illinois 6-2 put them into the championship game as the one seed.  This position faced them off against their arch rival and defending National Champion's the St Louis Blues.  Belle Tire jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the championship game however, found themselves tied 5-5 after regulation (helped in large part to the 4 consecutive Blue's power play goals).  Belle tire finally capped of the exciting weekend with the game winner in the second overtime to win 6-5. 

The team then competed in the local Compuware Honeybaked Invitational the weekend of Sept 18th.  They went undefeated in the tournament with wins over the Midland Northstars 4-1, Ohio Bluejackets 10-0, Florida Everblades 9-0, Honeybaked 4-1, Chicago Young Americans 7-0 and then 5-0 over Chicago Mission in the championship.  The team is coached by Joe Smaza, Doug Brown, Rick Stahl and Joe Connor.  The tplayers are Goalies; Cody Gibson and Nathan Churchill.  Defensemen; Nate Billiter, Joshua Jacobs, Damian Chreck, Aaron Haydon, Zack Werenski, and Cooper Stahl. Forwards; Marcel Godbout, Dylan Larkin, Jared Gardner, Dylan Pavelek, Austin Kamer, Darby Llewellyn, Christopher Brown, Kyle Connor and Evan Gizinski.

95 BT Lakers Glass City Champs

There were 14 teams in the hunt, Belle Tire won the Championship game vs the Motor City Chiefs by a score of 4 to 1.  The final game was played at the Toledo Ice House rink.
